How you can monetize from the start

How you can monetize from the start

Today we have an interview with Daniel Buckley.

He is helping individuals find freedom and mastery through financial independence.

What’s your background?

I am a Civil Engineering Project Manager working larger Federal Projects. I am the
father of seven and have been married for 34 years. I have always had an
entrepreneurial bent, but my talents and interests require me to work for a large firm, giving me the opportunity to work on projects that are at a scale a solopreneur or small firm could not accomplish. Because of this, I have learned leadership skills in the native environment, leading people.

Because of my entrepreneurial instincts, I have always wanted to do my own thing,
but I have never been inspired enough by a topic to do the work until now. I feel as if I am called to perform this work.

Share some numbers of how you've grown so far.

After 2 weeks of focused effort, I have increased my twitter followers from under ten to 75. I have sold four coaching packages in three days at $450 per package. This is again with 2 weeks of focused effort.

How would you describe your content?

My content discusses sovereignty, personal freedom and self-reliance. In particular, I focus on financial sovereignty. Financial sovereignty is not much different than personal finance, but financial sovereignty considers financial topics from the perspective of self reliance.

I focus on men, particularly fathers and grandfathers who want to protect themselves and their families from the loneliness and dislocation in our modern word. The keywords I address are sovereignty, masculinity and brotherhood.

I started reading and thinking more about our freedoms, and how they are at risk in our nation. First amendment freedoms, second amendment freedoms, all at risk. I counsel being courageous and prepared to fight for your rights. Preparedness is sovereignty.

What strategies have you used to grow your audience?

I am going from 0-100.

My strategy for now is simple:

● Provide as much value as I can
● As a crew leader in #Ship30for30, to support my crew as best I can.
● I am involved in one intentional retweet group.
● Experiment, Tweet, Assess, Repeat

Do you make money from it?

Only coaching at the moment. I have made my first $1350 in the last week doing financial coaching as a result of my overall work.  At the moment, I will stick with coaching, while pursuing speaking and writing deals toward the end of 2021.I’m not in it for money - I have a mission.

What are some mistakes you’ve made/challenges you’ve come up against? And what have you done to resolve them?

I haven’t been around long enough to make tactical mistakes, but if I had to pick one, I took too long to take action. I could have started six months ago as the idea started to germinate.

Describe the process of putting together your content.

My process is a work in progress. I read a lot and jot notes on 3x5 index cards. I pick the best one to go with on any given day. I have an outline of where I want to go, but I deviate often. I am experimenting with a twitter scheduler (see below) but I don’t have an opinion yet on how this is going.

What tools do you use that help you?

I would be the wrong person to answer this. I am experimenting with Hypefury, but not much more.

What have been the most influential books, podcasts, or other resources?

I go way back to Stephen Covey's 7 Habits book. This had a tremendous impact on
me and my future just when I was getting out of the military.

What advice do you have for others who want to get started or are just starting out?

Simplest advice of all - just get started. Work out the details later.

Do you have any plans for where your creating will go in the future? Is there anything else you are working on?

No plans at the moment. I am enjoying the ride.
